Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation ( BROCF) is an organization of Beijing
returned overseas Chinese and their families. By law it represents and protects the
interests and rights of returned Chinese, their families and overseas Chinese in China and
concerns the lawful rights and interests of overseas Chinese.
The BROCF works independently according to the China Returned Overseas Chinese Federation
Rules. Its main objectives are: to unite returned overseas Chinese and their families and
encourage them to participate in China’s modernising construction; to improves the
economic cooperation and technological communication with the overseas Chinese; to
participate in the Country’s political, economic, cultural and social events, protects
the interests and rights of returned overseas Chinese, their families and overseas
Chinese; to develop the overseas relationship, encourage the overseas Chinese to live
harmoniously with local residents which devotes to the local prosperity and development;
to carry the good Chinese tradition, enhance the communication between China and overseas
countries, serves the peaceful reunification of the motherland.
The Beijing Returned Overseas Chinese Federation has a long and brilliant history. It is
the first provincial (directly governed city region) returned overseas Chinese federation.
It was previously the ‘Yan’an Returned Overseas Chinese Save-the-nation Federation’ in
the anti-Japan war, and the ‘Liberated Region Returned Overseas Chinese Federation’ in
the civil war time. The Beijing returned Overseas Chinese Federation was officially
founded on 3rd, October, 1950.
